Our Projects


Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteer men and women dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. Chartered in 1959, the Glen Ridge Club has conducted several hundred projects to support our youth to grow up to be better citizens and make Glen Ridge and our world a better place to live and raise our families.

It’s all good work! Some of our projects:

Sponsor & mentor 3 youth service groups
      - K-Kids for grades 3 to 6
      - Builders Club for grades 7 & 8
      - Key Club for grades 9 to 12
Provide annual scholarships
Conduct a fundraiser for the primary schools’ music program.
Provide funding for Key Club Leadership training program.
Publish the Glen Ridge Phone Directory
Sponsor and organize the Memorial Day Parade & Town picnic
Annual leaf cleanup at the Freeman Gardens in late fall
Two annual clothing and household goods collections for needy groups
Presently raising funds in support of Kiwanis International’s Project Eliminate to eradicate neonatal tetanus in developing countries
Raised funds in support of Kiwanis International’s Iodine Deficiency Disorder program to eliminate the leading preventable cause of mental retardation in developing countries
Raised funds for the Kiwanis Autism Project
Raised funds for the creation of Children’s Specialized Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ
Initial prime sponsor of the Essex County Health Fair Day for Disabled Children at Turtle Back Zoo
